To qualify for endorsement, you must meet at least one of the following conditions:

• Award Winners – You must have won a globally recognised award such as an Academy Award (Oscar), BAFTA Award (Film, Television, Television Crafts, Cymru, Scotland, or Games categories), Golden Globe, or an Emmy Award.

• Nomination or Contribution – In the past 10 years, you should have been nominated for, or made a significant contribution to winning or being nominated for, one of the awards mentioned above.

• Multiple Nominations – Within the last 15 years, you must have achieved at least two nominations for the Academy Awards, BAFTA Awards, Golden Globes, or Emmy Awards.

• Industry Recognition – Alternatively, you can qualify by demonstrating notable industry recognition through international distribution deals, extensive media coverage, and a specific combination of awards listed on PACT’s Notable Industry Awards List.

Since there are nearly 200 awards on PACT’s notable industry list, it is crucial to thoroughly verify whether your achievements meet the required standards. Importantly, under this route, simply having the awards is not sufficient you must also show international distribution sales and media recognition, unlike the first three criteria where awards alone may suffice.

Evidence Required for PACT Endorsement

When applying for endorsement under the Film and Television Global Talent Visa route, your application must include three letters of recommendation:

1. UK-based Letter – One letter must come from a UK-based organisation, institution, or company that is widely acknowledged as an expert in the film and television industry, with strong national or international recognition.

2. Second Letter – The second letter must also come from a well-established industry authority (either in the UK or overseas) that is highly respected in the global film and television sector.

3. Third Letter – The final letter can be from another eligible organisation (UK or international) or an eminent industry expert with internationally recognised credentials in your specialist field.

Applicants who wish to switch to the Film and Television Global Talent Visa category can apply from within the UK, provided they are not currently holding, or were not last granted, leave to remain as:

• Visitor

• Short-term Student

• Parent of a Child Student

• Seasonal Worker

• Domestic Worker in a Private Household

• Any category outside the UK Immigration Rules

If your last leave falls under any of the categories above, you must exit the UK and submit your Film and Television Global Talent Visa application from your country of residence.

Apart from presenting a valid endorsement, the UK Home Office will evaluate your character, background, and immigration history to ensure you meet the general grounds for visa approval.

Notably, the Global Talent Visa has no maintenance fund or English language requirements, making it a streamlined process for highly skilled professionals.

Your Film and Television Global Talent Visa will be valid for the number of full years you request, up to a maximum of five years. While the duration requested does not impact your application outcome, it will affect the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) you are required to pay.

As an individual endorsed as ‘exceptionally talented’ rather than ‘exceptionally promising’, you may qualify for UK settlement (Indefinite Leave to Remain) in as little as three years.
